Jehovah's Witnesses Construction All links on this page are off-site
Jehovah's Witnesses are well known for their construction work in building "quick-build" Kingdom Halls, like barn raisings, to a certain extent, especially in the earlier days, in the 1980s, when the idea first started taking shape. Now things are spaced out a little more. In the first decade of "quick-build" Kingdom Halls, the majority, with the exception of the foundation and necessary plumbing up to that point, were done in 2 days. Much planning was involved, and working on the projects (speaking firsthand) was a wonderful experience. It gave a wonderful sense of brotherhood and purpose, we got to know many nice brothers and sisters and it was a pleasure. Everything positive in the press written about these projects was true.
The main work of Christians today, according to Jesus, is preaching and disciple making (Matthew 24:14, 28:19,20), but building Kingdom Halls, especially for youth, is an excellent experience also, along with people who are serving unselfishly and self-sacrificingly for all the right motives. The Kingdom Halls are still built by Jehovah's Witnesses themselves, for the most part, and many Assembly Halls and branch facilities as well. Many volunteer to serve full time in overseas projects, and also share in the ministry, the door-to-door and other aspects of the ministry in those countries as well. These are some links related to Kingdom Hall and other construction by Jehovah's Witnesses.

Jehovah's Witnesses build kingdom hall
BY COLIN CAMPBELL, Staff Writer The Herald
"Most people don't spend their vacations doing construction work.
But hundreds of Jehovah's Witnesses from Johnston County and across North Carolina are taking off work to help build a new kingdom hall -- or church -- on Cornwallis Road. "I think it's just about setting priorities," said Mike Piddington, who leads work crews on kingdom hall projects around the state."

One thing also worth mentioning with regards to the construction work of Jehovah's Witnesses. The Bible promises that the earth will be transformed into a paradise, as it was originally meant to be, and as illusrated in this painting, where there will be no more sickness, death, pain, or suffering. Revelation 21:4 says, "And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore, the former things have passed away." When working on the building projects of Jehovah's Witnesses, we often comment on how we feel like we are in paradise, building together and helping to transform the earth into a paradise. It's not like God will just snap his fingers, after the wicked are destroyed, and the earth will be a paradise. It will take a lot of work.
So the constructuion work of Jehovah's Witnesses gives us a little taste of things to come. Working secularly in the work force, in construction or in any other field, and working on construction projects of Jehovah's Witnesses are two different things, and the construction work with Jehovah's Witnesses, is a pleasure and joy, as Jesus said, "Come to me, all you who are toiling and loaded down, and I will refresh you. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for my yoke is kindly and my load is light." This really is the truth. Working for Jesus, whether it be in the ministry, or in construction work for God's buildings, or in some other way, is kindly and refreshing.
Like the Apostle Paul said, "I am telling the truth, and not lying."
