How are Jehovah's Witnesses different than Latter Day Saints?

In a nutshell ---- Jehovah's Witnesses believe that only the Bible is inspired of God. Jehovah's Witnesses don't feel that their literature is inspired of God, but rather, like an index finger or road map pointing to the Bible. Also, while Latter Day Saints believe in modern prophets who are inspired with new revelations, Jehovah's Witnesses do not feel that they are prophets, but rather, they are Christians, who have God's holy spirit.

Jehovah's Witness dedicate their life to God before their baptism, and endeavor to preach the Kingdom message for their entire lives, if that is possible, not just for a couple of years as youths in missionary assignments before attending college. Also, when Jehovah's Witnesses preach, they try to share the comfort directly from the Bible. The Bible has comfort, and the Kingdom message is referred to as "The good news of God's Kingdom," so while they believe that God is going to destroy this system of things, the message they are encouraged to preach in the Bible isn't one of fire and brimstone, but comfort, hope and love.

The love of God is what attracts people to the Bible and its message. Jehovah's Witnesses believe, unlike LDS, that the Bible hasn't been changed, that it is still pure form, and doesn't need to be restored. It is still the Word of God, as it originally was. Jehovah's Witnesses are politically neutral, they don't get involved in politics or even vote. They don't participate in war or carry carnal weapons. They are free to choose community service in lieu of joining the army in times of draft, or in countries where service in the armed forces is mandatory, but they won't carry a gun, or serve as a soldier. This was the case with the early Christians as well. After Jesus came, the early Christians weren't part of the military of any nation.

Jesus said, "My kingdom is no part of this world, if it were part of this world, my attendants would have fought......" John 17:16. So while Jehovah's Witnesses respect the laws of the land, follow them and pay their taxes, they don't have a share in politics. Jesus taught that God's Kingdom is an actual government that will solve the earth's problems, and that true Christians are primarily loyal to as their government. It is a government that has power to unite persons who live in hundreds of different secular nations, and who will never kill each other in the world's  divisive political conflicts.
