Jehovah’s Witnesses, Proclaimers of God’s Kingdom is a 750 page book that is published by Jehovah’s Witnesses which gives a detailed history of the history of Jehovah's Witnesses, an introduction to the history of Christianity, as well as details concerning the organization and structure, various schools, assemblies and programs, literature, a section on  the history of the persecution of Jehovah’s Witnesses, as well as  problems, difficulties, and errors, within the organization itself. This reference work is very detailed, complete, as well as very accurate, and includes a six page detail of chronological history dating from 1870 to 1992.  It contains  33 chapters as well as a 24 page Index.

Even though it was written by Jehovah’s Witnesses themselves, it does not gloss over or omit problems which have been experienced during the modern history of Jehovah’s Witnesses which goes back around  140 years, but  presents  an honest account of even the weaker areas and of the organization,  in addition to providing a positive and factual synopsis of the religious roots and integrity of  tens of thousand  who have been persecuted for their faith. Historical photos and illustrations are included, as well as a page of the then existing Governing Body of Jehovah’s Witnesses, from 1992, of which only two remain, the rest have died in that time period.

For anyone doing research on the subject of Jehovah’s Witnesses or has questions or for those who want to know the history of Jehovah’s Witnesses, this is a complete a work, honest and factual.

Two other excellent resources on Jehovah's Witnesses for public libraries are:

Facing the Lion by Simone Arnold Liebster,
Jehovah's Witness. Amazon.com
True story, and autobiography of a young French girl's struggle against Nazi opposition, and her ideological victory and integrity. Excellent for young teens and teens.

Besides the Diary of Anne Frank, Facing the Lion, about a young Jehovah's Witness girl, and Number the Stars, a story of Nazi resistance and neighbor love in Denmark, are the three best books for teens and pre-teens on young people coming face to face with Nazi persecution. All three are of value. (off-site Amazon links).

Max Liebster was a German Jew who learned of Jehovah's Witnesses while in the concentration camps. He later became one of Jehovah's Witnesses, and wrote his account of experiences. This is of value to any library collection on the Holocaust.
